Board Member

As the highest leadership body of the organization and to satisfy its fiduciary duties, the board is responsible for: upholding the mission and purposes of the organization, evaluating the performance of the chief executive, strategic and organizational planning, ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management, fundraising and resource development, approving and monitoring the organization’s programs and services, enhancing the organization’s public image, and assessing its own performance as the governing body of the organization

Responsibilities of Individual Board Members

Each individual board member is expected to:

  • know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs

  • faithfully read and understand the organization’s financial statements

  • serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for the organization to advance its mission

  • leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve the organization’s mission

  • give a meaningful personal financial donation

  • help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and reputational standing, and can influence public policy

  • prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings

  • participate fully in one or more committees

  • contribute monetarily to The Missing Link, COPE Inc

Qualifications
Passion for positive youth development
Ability to work in groups and take the lead
Display's willingness to commit time and to participate actively
Willingness to participate in board processes training and mental health
Demonstrated expertise in an area: leadership, medical profession, mental health, finances, marketing, fundraising, or networking

Volunteer

The volunteer’s responsibilities include completing tasks assigned by the supervisor, upholding the organization’s values, and maintaining a high degree of professionalism with all stakeholders. You should arrive on time, follow instructions, and improve the overall operations of the organization.

To be successful as a volunteer, you should demonstrate active listening and problem-solving skills. Outstanding volunteers should be diligent, meticulous, and take pride in their work. Volunteer Roles: Workshop Facilitator (virtual and in-person), Coping Box preparation

Responsibilities of Volunteers

Each volunteer is expected to:

  • Understanding your role and responsibilities as well as the rules and safety regulations of the organization.

  • Complete the relevant training and asking questions if you are uncertain about anything.

  • Complete all duties assigned by the supervisor and reporting any issues immediately.

  • Observe the rules and safety regulations of the organization while carrying out tasks.

  • Arrive on time for duty and remaining professional in your interactions with all stakeholders.

  • Make recommendations for improvement where feasible and appropriate.

  • Deliver presentations or reports if necessary.

  • Communicating with the supervisor or relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

  • high degree of professionalism and the ability to follow instructions

  • completion of relevant training might be required

  • willingness to learn and work as part of a team

  • good time management and reliable transport

  • clean background clearance

  • respect and diligence
